the Egg sofa by arne jacobsen

Arne Jacobsen Ægget Sofa

The Egg Sofa (Ægget sofa) is an elegant extension of Arne Jacobsen’s iconic Egg design, originally created in 1958 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. While the Egg Chair is the most famous version, the sofa translates the same sculptural language into a wider, more generous form suitable for seating two people. Like the chair, the sofa was designed to create a sense of shelter and intimacy within open public spaces.

serie 3300 sofa by arne jacobsen

Arne Jacobsen 3300 Sofa

Arne Jacobsen designed the Series 3300 sofa for SAS Terminal and SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, and is an elegant contrast to the Egg and Swan, which was also designed for the hotel. Arne Jacobsen found inspiration in a sofa he designed for his own home in the 1940s, and Series 3300 shows his strong sense of proportion and his unique ability to create durable design.

No. 1 sofa by børge mogensen

Sofa No. 1 was the first that Børge Mogensen designed for Fredericia, and it marked the start of a close collaboration. The tightly padded outer frame is softened by replaceable cushions with buttons. This classic sofa is designed with a focus on everyday life, which is why, among other things, the sofa has a single cushion in the seat surface, which is comfortable to both sit and lie on.

Japan sofa by finn juhl

Very nice and classic sofa designed by Finn Juhl. The Japanese sofa was drawn in 1953, and it has become very popular both inland and abroad over time. The sofa fits perfectly into the modern décor, and it is ideal as a living room. It was called Japan because it is inspired by the Miajima water street on the coast of Hiroshima. For Finn Juhl, Japan was a great source of inspiration, and it can be seen in many of his designs. The sofa is made of walnut, and the tree will only become more beautiful over time.

poet sofa by finn juhl

In 1949 Finn Juhl designed the beautiful Poet sofa for his own home. The poet sofa is a further development of the Pelikan armchair which was first shown in 1948. The poet sofa has a length of only 136 cm and therefore fits in both large and small homes.

Together with the impressive Chieftain Chair, Finn Juhl and master carpenter Niels Vodder also presented the Chieftain Sofa in 1949. The sofa is hand-upholstered in Denmark, and only extra-large skins of the finest leather quality are used. The chief sofa is made in oak or walnut.

Finn Juhl 45 Sofa

Finn Juhl created the 45 sofa as an extension of his iconic 45 chair in 1945. The sofa shares the chair’s natural proportions and distinctive construction, but has room for two. To mark the anniversary, House of Finn Juhl reintroduces the sofa – initially as 80 numbered First Edition pieces, followed by its inclusion in the permanent collection.

nv 53 by finn juhl

Always one of Finn Juhl’s most sought-after pieces, the 53 Sofa was originally designed for master joiner Niels Vodder. Distinguished by its elegant, sculptural expression, the sofa features armrests that encase the upholstery as if it were levitating. This design integrates the lightness and refinement of a wooden frame while offering exceptional comfort to the seated person.

LiTtle Mother by finn juhl

Originally designed in 1945, the Little Mother Sofa is characterized by its graceful form and refined simplicity. It meets modern needs while retaining an understated, timeless elegance. Baker Sofa by finn juhl

Defined by its bold two-piece backrest, the Baker Sofa marked Finn Juhl’s American debut. Designed in 1951, it was part of a modern furniture collection Finn Juhl made for the Michigan-based manufacturer Hollis Baker in 1949, which later inspired the sofa’s name. The Baker Sofa is masterfully crafted with a wooden frame available in oak or walnut.

Wall Sofa by finn juhl

Designed in 1950, the Wall Sofa exemplifies Finn Juhl’s inspiration from the free art movement of his era, as well as his boundary-crossing ambition to defy gravity and create a sense of movement. Its uniquely asymmetrical, excessively upholstered backrest almost floats like a cloud by René Magritte above the also levitating seat carried by an almost invisible frame.

46 sofa by finn juhl

As the name suggests, this bold, curvaceous two-seater sofa was originally designed in 1946 and crafted by Carl Brørup in his Copenhagen workshop. Finn Juhl, who was greatly influenced by modern art, integrated this inspiration into his designs during that period, with the 46 Sofa being a prime example. Exhibiting a free-flowing design and sculptural form, the 46 Sofa encapsulates Finn Juhl’s approach to furniture design.

48 sofa by finn juhl

The ‘heart-shaped’ 48 Sofa Bench from 1948 is defined by Finn Juhl’s characteristic sculptural shapes and refined details. It embraces the seated person, with rounded surfaces shaped to accommodate the natural contours of the resting body. Finn Juhl enjoyed experimenting with materials and combining them, and the 48 Sofa Bench is available not only in walnut but also in a combination of walnut and oak.

57 sofa by finn juhl

The 57 Sofa was the first of Finn Juhl’s designs to be relaunched by House of Finn Juhl, marking the beginning of a extraordinary partnership and collaboration with Finn Juhl’s widow, Hanne Wilhelm Hansen. The sofa’s sculptural silhouette is defined by smooth, clean lines, and the tall armrests curve around the seat, creating a cosy and comfortable space. With its pioneering design, the 57 Sofa remains as relevant today as ever.

77 sofa by finn juhl

As part of the streamlined 77 series, the 3-seater version offers extra space and a design that effortlessly harmonizes with various interior arrangements. Its minimalist design evokes the elegant, open interiors of 1950s and 1960s airport lounges, hotel lobbies, and architect-designed homes. Both the fixed seat and the loose back cushion are with spring inserts, ensuring both comfort and durability.

Ingeborg sofa by Flemming Lassen

The elegant 2.5-seater Ingeborg sofa was designed by Flemming Lassen in 1940 but never put into wider production. Recently rediscovered in the archives and painstakingly recreated from original sketches, it has since become a much sought-after piece in modern design circles. With its characteristic armrests, buttoned back and wooden legs, the deceptively spacious design is both beautiful to look at and comfortable to sit in. Profiling the same expression as its counterpart chair, together the two designs create a snug and embracing duo in any modern living space. The Ingeborg Sofa is available in a range of beautiful upholstery fabrics. Legs are available in oak or smoked oak.

Vilhelm sofa by Flemming Lassen

A sleek yet sumptuous three-seater sofa designed by Flemming Lassen in 1935, Vilhelm takes its name from the designer’s father and its design cues from the mid-century movement. Reintroduced in 2019 and updated to modern needs, Vilhelm invites relaxation with its gently rounded form and padded upholstery. The back and armrests offer privacy and are expertly detailed with buttons. Strong in terms of craft and presence, it welcomes life with its functional form.

CH72 sofa by hans j. wegner

A beautifully crafted fusion of aesthetics, function and comfort, Hans J. Wegner’s CH72 sofa was first presented in 1952 at the Danish Furniture Design exhibition in Copenhagen. Featuring compact proportions and a slimline frame, the two-seater sofa is perfectly suited to a smaller home. Its flowing form is also a pleasure to behold from all angles, making it an ideal choice for an open-plan space. A thorough understanding of craftsmanship and upholstery allowed the iconic Danish designer to conceive this sofa, the design of which is realized with a series of complex techniques – in particular, where the fabric meets the slim wooden armrests. The CH72 sofa is characterized by a sculptural, fully upholstered frame, a loose seat cushion, and elegant tapered legs in solid wood. T

CH102 sofa by hans j. wegner

In Hans J. Wegner’s CH102 sofa, there is a stainless steel frame in an unconventional design with an upholstered top made by traditional methods. The sofa’s inner wooden frame is padded after the best quality standards and the loose cushions are made with a foam core surrounded by down which makes them stable but, at the same time, soft. The stainless steel frame with a brushed surface with distinctive bends demonstrates Hans J. Wegner’s understanding of how to also work with this material. The CH102 sofa, which is part of the exclusive and versatile CH100 series, is an example of Wegner’s experiments with shapes and materials. In addition to the CH102 sofa, the series also consists of a lounge chair, a three-seater and a four-seater sofa, as well as two coffee tables.
