Flemming Lassen

Flemming Lassen Portræt

As one of the founders of the functionalist movement in Denmark, Flemming Lassen worked closely with other great names of the era, including Arne Jacobsen and his brother Mogens Lassen. Together, they helped define the direction of modern Danish architecture and design.

One of Flemming Lassen’s most iconic pieces of furniture is The Tired Man armchair from 1935. Designed with the vision of ultimate comfort, the chair’s soft, enveloping form became one of the most celebrated pieces of its time and remains a true classic today. It was originally showcased at the Cabinetmakers’ Guild Exhibition, earning widespread acclaim for its innovative and sculptural aesthetic.
